How to get your blog on Google, or easy tips so readers find you?

A blog as defined by Merriam-Webster is written content, posted on a website, that can contain ”online personal reflections, comments…”

A blog can be about any subject.  They can be authored by anyone.  Each person that comes to that table, sits down with their own perspective on a subject, experience, and writing skills.

A blog should be interesting, informative, and readable.

Before you sit down and write, it’s a good idea to first, decide what you’re writing about and put your ideas in an outline. When writing your outline a blogger should consider the keywords and keyword phrases that will bring in the readers.

Keywords are the words readers will search on in Google to find your finished work.

Regardless of the subject, a keyword search, to find the right words to use in the content, will help the blog author with rankings. For example, using the word BLOG as a keyword may not have the results you desire, as it’s too common a word.

Keywords
work much better, when they are words your readers will actually search for.  Using a keyword research tool a list of suggested keywords and phrase can be found for both topic and content.

To be successful with keywords:

  1. Try to think like your reader. Stay away from keywords that are too specific or limiting. When writing about lake fishing, for example, use the keyword “rainbow trout” not the keyword phrase “rainbow trout only found on the left side of a cold lake”.
  2. Do not use identical keywords repeatedly.
  3. Be descriptive: “fishing for rainbow trout works best when you fish in a cold lake” instead of “fish for rainbows trout in the lake”
  4. Use familiar terms and brands if possible.
  5. Include many keywords and keyword phrases about the topic you’re writing about.
  6. Stay away from unrelated subjects.

Keep your blog on topic and use your keywords.  It’s also recommended to use synonyms. Replace rainbow trout, with fish or trout when appropriate. You do not want to stuff your blog with focus keywords (rainbow trout), it will
be boring
and actually hurt Google rankings.

If possible, link blogs to your own content on your own website.  This
establishes authority: i.e. you’ve written about this subject before. This also helps in Google rankings and most importantly helps your readers find more information on the subject.

A blog can be about anything, written by anyone.  Google ranks your blog by good content and keywords. Keywords are essential to lead readers to your blog. Good content generates more visitors, more shares, and higher rankings.

With so many tasks and conversations happening across various groups, it's no wonder Tammy finds it hard to keep up. Was it Amy who said she would work with the kids on Wednesday and bring chairs, or was it crayons? And the weekend brunch—was it scheduled for 12 PM at 1 Main Street or 1 PM at 12 Main Street? YIKES!  Amidst the clutter of apps , digital reminders, and calendars, the details do get lost. Lost details lead to confusion and miscommunication. Overworked and stretched thin, Tammy needs a solution that simplifies communication without demanding more of her limited time. This is a common scenario for many nonprofit leaders, and the solution lies in effective communication tools. This is where group email o

Exploring Green Website Design: Sustainable Solutions For A Digital Future

Do my online activities impact the environment? Quite possibly. It’s important to remember that everything has a cost, even seemingly free Wi-Fi. Accessing the internet consumes energy, from powering our devices to running wireless networks. Each of these actions releases a few grams of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. But have you ever wondered where all this data is stored? Whether on standalone servers, networked systems, or in the “cloud ”, storing our endless data streams requires a significant amount of energy. This is where the concept of a green website comes into play. Using less energy to access websites, data, and information is not a solution most of us have.
